Covid-19 Changed How We Travel
It’s been almost a year since the first covid-19 case was reported in Wuhan, China. Ever since then, nothing has really remained the same. The disease quickly became a global pandemic, bringing the entire world to a halt, locking down countless countries entirely, shutting down numerous economies, hundreds and thousands of people losing their battles to this deadly disease and the way of living changing altogether.
From socializing to eating to traveling, lots have changed and covid-19 has been nothing but a nightmare for those who have a travel bug, confined to their homes due to countries worldwide closing borders for tourism in an attempt to contain the virus. But with the advent of 2021, tourists can pack their bags once again and look forward to finally satisfying their wanderlust. So, here’s a list we have put together of all the places that should be on your travel list, and you can visit even during the pandemic.
Our friends over at Bankrate have compiled an amazing guide with tips for booking travel in 2021 and how to capitalize when planning your trips!
1. Barbados
The country to top our list is a place on most people’s bucket list and what other time to visit this beautiful piece of heaven on earth than now when you can enjoy all those stunning views all to yourself without the usual crowds and just enjoy some peace and calm. But before you get back to traveling in 2021 and book your tickets for Barbados, do ensure that you have tested negative for covid-19, which has been taken a maximum of 72 hours before your arrival in the country. Other than a negative COVID-19 test, all visitors must also quarantine in their designated hotels and resorts.
2. Cambodia
Cambodia is another great travel destination that one can visit in 2021, but before you do, you might want to note that Cambodia has relatively strict rules and regulations regarding COVID-19. Other than the mandatory standard negative coronavirus test done within 72 hours of your arrival in Cambodia, you will also be required to pay a $2000 deposit. After the initial requirements are met, you will have to quarantine for a period of 14 days and also buy local health insurance amounting to around $90 for the length of your duration in Cambodia. But once done with all these requirements, we assure you it will be a trip worth going through all these pains.
3. Colombia
If you are looking for a vacation involving less paperwork, then Colombia is your perfect option. Not only does it offer a beautiful landscape but also offers both beaches and forests for nature lovers. And the best part is that you wouldn’t even have to bother with any additional Covid related documentation or procedures other than the standard Covid test, which in Columbia can be taken within 96 hours before your departure to Columbia compared to the usual 72 hours. And the cherry on top? You don’t have to quarantine, not even one day, so you can essentially get right into your vacation mode without wasting a single second on quarantine.
4. Dubai
Who doesn’t like a quick trip to Dubai if given a chance, right? Dubai offers the perfect blend of happening nightlife, impressive food scene, scenic natural sites, thrilling adventure sports and countless sightseeing spots. And thanks to the country’s successful Coronavirus curbing policies, you don’t have to miss out on any of this fun because the country has now opened its borders for visitors. Just make sure that before you leave for Dubai, you have valid medical insurance, can present a negative PCR test for Covid-19, and have a completed health declaration form stating all necessary details about your health and medical history.
5. Kenya
Have a thing for safaris? Love being around nature? Have a thrill for wildlife? Well, Kenya has to be on top of your travel list if you plan to travel in 2021. The Kenyan Government has resumed tourist activities and has opened their borders to visitors as long as they have tested negative for the deadly virus within 96 hours of arriving in the country and have passed their meticulous screening and monitoring procedures on arrival. Once all that’s done and cleared, you can straight into your safari suit because you are not required to quarantine in Kenya.
6. Senegal
Famous for its sand beaches, clear waters, and upbeat music, Senegal is usually a bustling holiday destination almost the entire year-round. But in 2021, you can enjoy everything that Senegal has to offer without the usual crowds and racket. Plan your trip to Senegal for this year and have a memorable trip that will stay with you forever. Senegal’s entry requirements make it even easier for you to travel to this beautiful place with nothing more needed than a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken within five days of arrival. And you don’t even have to quarantine, now that’s what we call a vacation.
7. Turkey
If you are looking for a more architectural treat that can also satisfy your quest for rich historical culture, turkey is a no brainer. Offering everything from scenic views to romantic hot air balloon rides, mouthwatering food to the colorful streets of the local bazaars, there is no other place like Turkey.
Just fill in a short form requiring your health details and medical history, pass their screening process for any coronavirus symptoms, and you are good to go. Take in all the beautiful sights, enjoy authentic Turkish cuisine, sail the Bosporus and roam the local markets. It’s going to be a trip you will never forget.
